Jacaranda Trace welcomes Andrew Lapp once again, as he performs a piano concert for your listening pleasure. Having his first piano lesson at the age of seven, he later studied privately with Sandra Lawler. Andrew has also taken master lessons with several noted teachers including Dr. Marc Silverman of the Manhattan School of Music, Rebecca Penneys of the Eastman School of Music, Dr. Kevin Orr of the University of Florida, and Dr. Sergio Ruiz of Sam Houston University. Andrew has appeared as a solo pianist with the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, Venice Symphony Orchestra, and the Sarasota Pops Orchestra. As a young Steinway Artist, Andrew performs nationally and recently debuted as an accompanist at Carnegie Hall.

Off Broadway Palm Theatre presents "The Great American Trailer Park Musical." Meet some of the residents of a trailer park called "Armadillo Acres". Norbert and Jeannie have been married for 20 years, and there's no electricity left in their relationship, a situation enhanced by Jeannie's agoraphobia, in which she refuses to leave their trailer.

Baila Miller concludes her series on Gertrude Stein, the American writer and art collector who lived most of her life in Paris. Baila is an expert in art history and appreciation. This series has been exceptional, and many have become more cultured and knowledgeable concerning Gertrude Stein and her tremendous influence.

Each quarter, residents of Jacaranda Trace enjoy a leisurly day of shopping at one of the many outlet malls in our area. Ellenton Prime Outlet Mall is one of the best shopping centers around, as it offers an abundance of stores for every interest. Whether you're interested in items from Guess, Coach, Columbia or Calvin Klein, there is something for you! Join us for an afternoon of retail therapy, you won't regret it!

This spring, our Beach Picnic took place at Maxine Barritt Park. The open pavilion provided residents with a beautiful view of the gulf as well as Venice Pier. Beach chairs and tents were set up on the beach so that residents could enjoy a closer look at the ocean. They could also take a dip in the water, enjoy live steel-drum entertainment, eat a delicious lunch and feel the Florida sun on their skin. Sesame Street meets South Park! This outrageous musical played Broadway for over six years. The story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad, who moves to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price-range is Avenue Q. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Avenue Q features full puppet nudity!

Every year, Ringling College of Art and Design's Selby Gallery creates a rich and diverse series of exhibitions for its student body and the community at large. The exhibits include juried student work. They also feature artist proofs, published prints, and books from the collection of Douglass Graem, founder of the Turner Museum in Denver, CO., and now a resident of Sarasota, FL.
