The Venice Symphony provides cultural enrichment for South Sarasota County and enhances the area's cultural image for residents and visitors through performances of classical works and "pops" selections. It serves as a source of music appreciation education for the community and provides a stimulating musical experience for professional musicians, promising students, retirees with musical talents, and its audience. Below, conductor Maestro Bowermeister is pictured. This is his third year with VS. The Outdoor Concert this year was held at the lovely Maxine Barritt Park!

Prime Financial came to Jacaranda Trace to reveal more information concerning annuities, and to make sure that our residents feel in control of their accounts and more. This informative presentation helped attendees gain better comprehension of their finances and options in this economy.

The red carpet was brimming with excitement as our JT stars and starlets had their photo taken by the paparazzi. Many looked dashing in their tuxedos and evening gowns! Inside, a montage of Hollywood's most classic films played in the background, and guests dined on an array of heavy hors d'oeuvres. Later in the evening, Rashaun Hammond (better known for his role as a Lost Boy  in Steven Spielberg's Hook) graced the stage to entertain the audience with song, dance and mesmerizing magic! Our travel program is second to none, as we offer various trips throughout the year for residents to take part in as a group. In March, we offered a cruise on the Crown Princess ship. Travelers would visit ports such as Princess Cay, Curacao, and Aruba. This tropical adventure was all inclusive, with port fees & taxes, round trip transfers from Jacaranda Trace, an exclusive cocktail part and cruise fare all in one acceptable price! You don't want to miss our next excursion!

The Venice Gondoliers sing for fun and fellowship and share their music with Civic Clubs, Schools, Retirement Centers and a variety of Community groups. They dress up in our best Barbershop finery for the Annual show, held each March, where you might find them performing Broadway show songs, traditional Barbershop tunes, sacred hymns or rousing patriotic anthems. One of our very own residents is also a part of this wonderful singing group, Mr. Robert Svozil!

They are a nonprofit organization which donates performance proceeds to local School music programs, local Charities, Scholarships and Cultural groups. There are more than thirty who sing with the Venice Gondoliers.

The Five Browns are firing up classical music! Whether performing solos or complex five-piano arrangements, they reveal a deep connection to their material while bringing a fresh energy and dynamic character to classic sounds. The sibling quintet has been dubbed the “Fab Five” by People Magazine, featured on Oprah and 60 Minutes, and their first CDs went to #1 on Billboard Magazine’s Classical Album Chart.

Our residents got a real view of one of Florida's most well known natural preserves this past Saturday. They visited the Florida Everglades! The Everglades are an American swampland, brimming with endangered animal and plant-life. They enjoyed an air-boat ride, delicious lunch, and a scenic tour of the islands. My earliest memory is of my father carrying me down to the basement on his shoulders to talk to my mother on the phone. She was in the hospital after giving birth to my baby brother. I grew up in Bayside, Long Island. I worked as a nurse after graduating from Malloy College. Soon after that I got engaged. We were only engaged for 8 days before getting married! My husband was in the military and together we had three children. We lived in Spain for 3 wonderful years. We always loved to travel together. I've been to all of the National Parks. I loved boating and sailing, needleword and square-dancing. Who am I?

My earliest memory is of setting the house on fire when I was only 4 years old! As I grew up, I went into the Air Force between 1951-1955. I fought in the Korean War. I attended Lawrence Institute of Technology and later became an employee of the Chrysler Corporation. I am married with one step-daughter, one daughter, six sons and five grandchildren. I have enjoyed sailboat racing, golfing, tennis, bowling and playing cards. I have traveled to Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Alaska & Virginia. Who Am I?
