Residents enjoyed the first beach picnic of Spring so much that we decided to do it all again! What's not to enjoy? Maxine Barritt Park boasts glorious views of the Gulf, powdery sand on the shoreline, and tropical breezes. Dining Services provided a picnic-inspired menu, and Kenny Moolinar played the steel drum! The Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest is one of the most spectacular competitions of its kind. Siesta Key provides the absolute perfect conditions for building sand sculptures, and we're not just talking your average sand castle! So enjoy the ocean, the sound of sea gulls, and most of all, the art!

This spring, our Beach Picnic took place at Maxine Barritt Park. The open pavilion provided residents with a beautiful view of the gulf as well as Venice Pier. Beach chairs and tents were set up on the beach so that residents could enjoy a closer look at the ocean. They could also take a dip in the water, enjoy live steel-drum entertainment, eat a delicious lunch and feel the Florida sun on their skin. Each month we visit one of the various surrounding beaches. Nothing compares to a Florida sunset! At Manasota Beach, you are free to take a stroll down the shoreline, watch dolphins and local birds in the surf, and of course, witness a beautiful sunset.
