Hamlet’s intense struggle to understand the meaning of life has captivated audiences for more than 400 years. Now, Sarasota audiences will be the first to see a distinctively Cuban Hamlet, which reveals new perspectives on the classic work while staying true to Shakespeare’s original story. With performances both Spanish and English, this new adaptation offers us a fresh and stunning portrayal of a son’s struggle to pursue justice, and the consequences that threaten to destroy the lives of those he loves.

Under the watchful gaze of his young assistant, the abstract expressionist Mark Rothko works feverishly to complete the largest commission in the history of modern art. Set amid the swiftly-changing cultural tide of the early 1960s, Red uses stunning visual drama to explore art, commerce, demons, ideas, and the nature of creativity as a whole.

They dress up in our best Barbershop finery for the Annual show, held each March, where you might find them performing Broadway show songs, traditional Barbershop tunes, sacred hymns or rousing patriotic anthems. One of our very own residents is also a part of this wonderful singing group, Mr. Robert Svozil!

They are a nonprofit organization which donates performance proceeds to local School music programs, local Charities, Scholarships and Cultural groups. There are more than thirty who sing with the Venice Gondoliers.
