Residents enjoyed the first beach picnic of Spring so much that we decided to do it all again! What's not to enjoy? Maxine Barritt Park boasts glorious views of the Gulf, powdery sand on the shoreline, and tropical breezes. Dining Services provided a picnic-inspired menu, and Kenny Moolinar played the steel drum! Our resident volunteers have faithfully worked all school-year long, stuffing backpacks with nutritious foods for local students in need. All Faiths Food Bank has enabled JT residents to get involved inthe fight against hunger. As we near the end of our backpacking season, we would like to thank AFFB for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful cause!

Going out for breakfast is always a special treat. Jacaranda Trace is centered among many restaurants which serve a hearty and delicious breakfast. Flapjacks Cafe is one of these restaurants, and you don't want to miss our outing there! Join us for a tall stack of pancakes and other breakfast specialties!

The Bar Lounge has taken off with great success! Residents love visiting the area for a quick bite to eat and a tasty cocktail to top it off. They can come enjoy some social time with their friends without ever having to leave Jacaranda Trace.

Each quarter, residents of Jacaranda Trace enjoy a leisurly day of shopping at one of the many outlet malls in our area. Ellenton Prime Outlet Mall is one of the best shopping centers around, as it offers an abundance of stores for every interest. Whether you're interested in items from Guess, Coach, Columbia or Calvin Klein, there is something for you! Join us for an afternoon of retail therapy, you won't regret it!

One of the things that sets Jacaranda Trace apart from other retirement communities is its devotion residents as they experience different life changes. We know how important it is that they feel comfortable in sharing their experiences, asking questions and receiving helpful information. This month, the Parkinson’s Support Group welcomed Bill Wild, who has a background in physical education and exercise science. He has worked with patients who have experienced Cardio Pulmonary, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Parkinson’s, MS and Cancer, to name a few. Guest speakers like Bill help members of this support group stay informed and connected as they go through life’s journey affected by Parkinson’s.

JT residents had the opportunity to have a grand tour of the entire facility!

Come Fly Away combines the seductive vocals of Frank Sinatra with the sizzling sound of a live 19-piece big band and the visceral thrill of Twyla Tharp’s choreography. Fifteen dancers tell the story of four couples falling in and out of love at a swinging nightclub on a sultry summer night, set to a score of beloved Sinatra classics.

Chair Yoga is a relaxing and beneficial exercise class taught in the seated position for safety and comfort. This activity is ideal for many seniors. It stretches muscles and focuses on breathing techniques. This is a monthly event growing quickly in popularity!

The April Parkinson Support Group will feature an exercise therapist from Venice Regional Medical Center that will detail exercises especially for people with Parkinson's Disease.  Support Group date:  Thursday April 5 in the 2nd Floor of Cadbury Commons, 3600 William Penn Way, Venice Florida.
