Southwest Florida is an area full of wonderful eateries, especially in Venice. Each month our residents have the opportunity to visit a group of restaurants in our area to wine and dine for the evening. In March, some of the restaurant options were Bonefish Grill, Mi Pueblo's Mexican Restaurant, and Ivy's Steakhouse. Whether it's fresh seafood or a succulent steak you're craving, Venice has it!

Our residents got a real view of one of Florida's most well known natural preserves this past Saturday. They visited the Florida Everglades! The Everglades are an American swampland, brimming with endangered animal and plant-life. They enjoyed an air-boat ride, delicious lunch, and a scenic tour of the islands. Come Fly Away combines the seductive vocals of Frank Sinatra with the sizzling sound of a live 19-piece big band and the visceral thrill of Twyla Tharp’s choreography. Fifteen dancers tell the story of four couples falling in and out of love at a swinging nightclub on a sultry summer night, set to a score of beloved Sinatra classics.

The April Parkinson Support Group will feature an exercise therapist from Venice Regional Medical Center that will detail exercises especially for people with Parkinson's Disease.  Support Group date:  Thursday April 5 in the 2nd Floor of Cadbury Commons, 3600 William Penn Way, Venice Florida.

 

Moods will "lighten" and spirits will soar, as Bello and other fabulous international circus artists create "hair-raising" fun.  We even have VIP Boxes, right on the concourse, no steps to your seat.  This is an unforgettable and fun show!

The Venice-Nokomis Rotary Art Festival is an annual event which hosts vendors from all around Florida as they bring their one of a kind creations to the public. You can browse unique pieces of photography, paintings, woodwork and more!

Dining Services celebrated New Years with a delicious and savory spread for our residents to enjoy! Many were joined by loved ones to ring in the new year at this annual meal. The gathering took place in the Cadbury Commons Clubhouse in our spacious and elegant Dining Room.

Southwest Florida is a gem for those who enjoy the cultural arts. We are home to Venice Symphony, Sarasota Ballet, and of course, the Sarasota Orchestra. Musical Mornings is a feature of the Orchestra, and they recently performed an impressive show for our local community and residents of JT in our spacious auditorium. Our campus is especially unique in that we offer top of the line entertainment, such as Musical Mornings, in the comfort of our very own Clubhouse!

The Historic District of Venice Island is a gem, with restaurants serving savoring selections and tempting desserts. Pineapple's, T.J. Carneys and the Upper Crust Cafe are only a few of the options our residents have to dine at. Just down the road is Sharkey's on the Pier, a waterfront dining experience. Each month, a new location is selected for Dining Out, which means there is always a different table waiting for you!
