Introductory Tour and Luncheon

Many of our residents were previously avid gardeners, or they simply love what an orchid or plant adds to the ambiance of their home. This Home Depot workshop specialized in teaching them how to maintain a healthy and vibrant plant and/or orchid inside of their home or out on their balcony. This workshop, like many of the offerings here at the Trace, was free of charge to our residents and they enjoyed learning so much!

Taking in the breathtakingly beautiful sunsets of the Florida landscape is something that draws many to permanently reside in our state. The sunsets of Venice beach are incomparable indeed. Residents can enjoy provided beach chairs and relax with their toes in the sand, or grab a bite to eat at Sharkey's on the pier while they watch the curtain close on another day in paradise. The holiday season is upon us! There are wreaths ready and waiting for the crafty hands of our JT residents. Our Art & Craft room has been stocked with materials for wreath decorating so that residents can create one for the JT Clubhouse and one for their very own door. The wreaths they have been creating are beautiful, and we cannot wait to display them as they are completed.

The Weintraub Duo, comprised of Nancy on the Piano and Jason on the English Horn and Oboe, was magnificent in their concert at Jacaranda Trace. They presented "From the Land of the Midnight Sun," and our community audience was simply raving over their performance. The numbers they played included music from Norway, Russia and Finland.

Enriching the lives of seniors everyday is part of the Jacaranda Trace mission. Offering cultural arts events has proved to be extremely popular among our residents since we live in an area so rich in both visual and performing arts. Sarasota Opera offered the classic Madama Butterfly this season, and we couldn't resist the opportunity to attend. Jacaranda Trace offers cultural events year-round at many venues.

A trip down to an old Florida town was just what our Jacaranda Trace residents needed on a November morning. With a meal at a home-style restaurant, a docent tour at multiple museums, and a scenic drive down historic country routes, the day couldn't have gone better! Arts & Leisure schedules extended day trips, like this one to Pine Island, all throughout the year. Our residents always enjoy learning about the historical surroundings Florida offers.

The ladies of Jacaranda Trace enjoy sporting the latest fashions, which is why attending local fashion shows is always a hit. The Venice Symphony Guild Fashion Show & Luncheon, entitled The Maestro Steps Out, helped raise funds for the arts presented through the Guild. Fashions were presented by Krystyna's Designs, Patchington's, and Captain's Landing.

Each month the League of British Women, formerly known as Daughters of the British Empire, arrives at Jacaranda Trace to discuss the latest outreaches and projects of the organization. In October, the group, comprised of JT Club Members as well as outside guests, took a tour of our beautiful campus. The ladies enjoyed a light lunch in our elegant Private Dining Room and later concluded their meeting in our spacious Art & Craft Room. JT is proud to support such groups, as they continue to enrich and diversify our charming Venice community.
