Think you know your neighbors? Read the descriptions below and see if you can guess who they are! The answers will be revealed next month.
Neighbor #1:
My favorite childhood memory is of the time I got to ride on a float in a parade. I also loved the moment I took my first dive off of a board! I worked in ER & Psychiatric nursing. I also had an Italian Cuisine for 11 years with my family. I am one of five children. Although I was born in Queens, NY, I spent 35 years in NJ. I have one son. I have enjoyed my travels to Canada, London, Belgium, Greece and Turkey. Sailing, golf, ceramics, sewing, cooking and baseball have always been enjoyable activities to me. In high school, I played sports and was a cheerleader. I live by the motto, "life is good!" Who am I?
Neighbor #2:
I always love thinking back on my mother's cooking. I also enjoyed my first eight years of education in a one room school-house. I worked in the farmland industry for 23 years and in the American Textile Mills as well. I have two sisters and one brother who live in Kansas. I enjoy gardening, cruising in Alaska and Europe, and reading in my spare time. I moved to Nokomis in 1999 and built two houses before moving into Jacaranda Trace. Who am I?

The all inclusive lifestyle at Jacaranda Trace is certainly unparalleled. One of the ways in which we promote healthy living is by offering a state of the art Fitness Center open 24/7. There is also a personal trainer that comes to our campus twice weekly. Staying fit and active is easy here at the Trace!

Neighbor #1:
My favorite childhood memories are of the Christmas that I received my first bicycle, and of course, of tap-dancing class. I especially loved to "East Side, West Side." I have a B.S. degree and was a business rep. with New York Telephone Company and C & P Telephone company in Washington D.C. I worked while also raising my four children. I currently have 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. I have always loved the yearly visits my husband and I take to Hawaii. I also loved when I traveled to my ancestral Germany. I love being social and playing bridge.
Neighbor #2:
I was raised on a dairy farm and worked my way through college as a gold miner in Idaho. I graduated with a degree in Mathematics. I spent 32 years in the Weather Bureau (now the National Weather Service). I also served as the Visiting Scientist on the Navy's Antarctic Expedition. Due to my research in Antarctica, an island was named in my honor. After retiring from the Weather Bureau, I was a Project Manager for the United Nations for two years each in the Dominican Republic and Chile.

The holiday season is upon us! There are wreaths ready and waiting for the crafty hands of our JT residents. Our Art & Craft room has been stocked with materials for wreath decorating so that residents can create one for the JT Clubhouse and one for their very own door. The wreaths they have been creating are beautiful, and we cannot wait to display them as they are completed.

The Oasis of the Seas is the most exquisite and vast ship sailing the Caribbean today. Our residents have signed up for quite an adventure on this Thanksgiving season cruise. Although the ports are full of adventure, it is the ship itself stealing all of the accolades and attention. With it's Central Park replica, Broadway inspired shows, ice skating rink and more, it is no wonder this ship so popular. Travelers are anxiously waiting for the coming days they will spend on board, celebrating Thanksgiving in true cruise style!

A trip down to an old Florida town was just what our Jacaranda Trace residents needed on a November morning. With a meal at a home-style restaurant, a docent tour at multiple museums, and a scenic drive down historic country routes, the day couldn't have gone better! Arts & Leisure schedules extended day trips, like this one to Pine Island, all throughout the year. Our residents always enjoy learning about the historical surroundings Florida offers.

Each quarter of the year, Arts & Leisure organizes a fabulous themed event with live entertainment, cocktails and a delicious meal. In October, we will be hosting a 50s Sock Hop and Antique Car Show. The car show will take place around our very own Hoover Pond, while the Soda Fountain, games and prizes, DJ and dining experience will take place in the Clubhouse. The entire Auditorium will be transformed into a retro, car-hopping, record playing, diner-styled sock-hop! The Decorating Committee has been hard at work, along with Arts & Leisure, assembling table centerpieces, stage decor, and other 50s inspired embellishments. It will all be worth it when our residents have a "neat" experience going back in time!
