Everyone loves when the fair comes to town! This year, residents had the opportunity to visit the Sarasota County Fair to enjoy the best "fair-food," displays, rides, exhibits and live entertainment! Venice is close to the best activities Southwest Florida has to offer. This event marks the beginning of beautiful springtime, time to get outdoors!

Southwest Florida is an area full of wonderful eateries, especially in Venice. Each month our residents have the opportunity to visit a group of restaurants in our area to wine and dine for the evening. In March, some of the restaurant options were Bonefish Grill, Mi Pueblo's Mexican Restaurant, and Ivy's Steakhouse. Whether it's fresh seafood or a succulent steak you're craving, Venice has it!

Murder Mystery Night was an evening of enchantment and excitement! Each residents posed as a detective, trying to solve the mystery of who was the "murderer on the green." Live actors portrayed the story of a millionaire slain on the golf course - but who did it? By the last course, many thought they had gotten to the bottom of this crime! Dining Services prepared a delicious Irish meal and plenty of green beer for our residents and their guests on St. Patrick's Day! They came dressed in green from head to toe, and enjoyed live entertainment for the evening. We know how to celebrate the luck o' the Irish at the Trace!

The red carpet was brimming with excitement as our JT stars and starlets had their photo taken by the paparazzi. Many looked dashing in their tuxedos and evening gowns! Inside, a montage of Hollywood's most classic films played in the background, and guests dined on an array of heavy hors d'oeuvres. Later in the evening, Rashaun Hammond (better known for his role as a Lost Boy  in Steven Spielberg's Hook) graced the stage to entertain the audience with song, dance and mesmerizing magic! Olivia Von Nick instructs senior dancers in the convenient location of our Clubhouse Auditorium. Men and women come together to dance the most beautiful Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep you'd ever hope to see. Whether you're experienced or simply just beginning, there is a place for you in our Ballroom Dancing Class!

It's the Year of the Dragon, and we celebrated with Asian cuisine and live entertainment in our Dining Room. January 23rd introduced the Chinese New Year, which brought just one more reason to celebrate at Jacaranda Trace!

The Historic District of Venice Island is a gem, with restaurants serving savoring selections and tempting desserts. Pineapple's, T.J. Carneys and the Upper Crust Cafe are only a few of the options our residents have to dine at. Just down the road is Sharkey's on the Pier, a waterfront dining experience. Each month, a new location is selected for Dining Out, which means there is always a different table waiting for you!
